--- American Chemical Society -- Specific Climate Impact of Passenger and Freight Transport -- Travelling by car increases global temperatures more than travelling by plane, but only in the long term. The magnitude of the effects varies over time for each transport mode. This paper compares first the absolute climate impacts of current passenger and freight transportation. Second, the impacts are normalized with the transport work performed and modes are compared. http://pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10.1021/es9039693

--- American Power Services -- The Advantages of Rebuilding Feedwater Heaters -- Feedwater heaters with 10 to 30% of the tubes plugged have traditionally been replaced with new heater. Today with the focus on keeping capital cost to a minimum, rebuilding existing heaters is becoming an increased trend. http://www.1aps.com/media_center.html

--- American Power Services -- Breathing Added Life into Failing Heat Exchangers -- AEP Tanner’s Creek power station found that using the latest technological advancements can add years to heat exchanger units. By more accurately and quickly replacing tubes, costs are slashed and service is life extended. http://www.onlinetes.com/current-alternative-energy-solutions-041410-tes.aspx (as published in Today’s Energy Solutions)

--- CERES Report: The 21st Century Electric Utility: Positioning for a Low-Carbon Future. The report outlines key trends affecting the industry, roadblocks that must be overcome, and actions that utilities must take to ensure a successful transition to providing cleaner energy to their customers sooner, and on a significantly larger scale. http://www.ceres.org/Page.aspx?pid=1263

--- CNA -- Powering America's Economy: Energy Innovation at the Crossroads of National Security Challenges -- The report looks at the potential opportunities that could result from the transition to a clean energy technology-based economy and the key role that the Department of Defense (DOD) can play to support innovation and commercialization of clean, low carbon energy, thereby directly contributing to America’s future economic competitiveness and bolstering national security. http://www.cna.org/research/2010/powering-americas-economy-energy-innovation

--- Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) -- Characterizing Consumers' Interest in and Infrastructure Expectations for Electric Vehicles: Research Design and Survey Results -- Ninety five percent of people surveyed in Southern California say they would prefer to charge their electric vehicle at home. That and other findings can be found in survey results that characterize consumers’ perceptions of electric vehicle ownership as well as their expectations of electric utilities and associated services. http://my.epri.com/portal/server.pt?Abstract_id=000000000001021285

--- European Ocean Energy Association: Oceans of Energy : a European Roadmap for Ocean Energy Development. The report highlights the significant progress made in the sector in recent years and underlines the measures required to maintain European technological lead and create a world – leading marine  industrial  base  in  Europe. http://www.eu-oea.com/index.asp?bid=436

--- Georgia Sea Grant Program: Current Status of BP Oil Spill --- Report concludes that nearly 80 percent of oil from Gulf spill remains. --- National Grid -- Renewable Gas - Vision for a Sustainable Gas Network -- The white paper discusses the potential sources of renewable gas in the northeastern U.S. and provides an overview of renewable gas technology. Derived from existing waste sources, renewable gas can reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. http://www.nationalgridus.com

--- National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL): Technology Improvement Pathways to Cost-effective Vehicle Electrification. The study researches the cost effectiveness of several different scenarios of vehicle electrification: batteries sized for the life of the vehicle, batteries designed to be replaced during the life of the vehicle, opportunity charging (the battery can be recharged at the end of every trip, not just the end of the day), and both battery replacement and opportunity charging together. http://www.nrel.gov/docs/fy10osti/47454.pdf

--- Pecan Street Project: Recommendations for Launching Clean Energy Economy and Bringing Transformative Change to Electricity. The report stems from a year-long collaboration that included more than 200 volunteers from the City of Austin, Austin Energy, Environmental Defense Fund, The University of Texas, The Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce and more than a dozen local and national technology and energy companies. http://pecanstreetprojectaustin.org
